Live Music Events To Attend Post-covid

We cannot be any more ready for live music shows and the irreplaceable atmosphere it brings. Take a look at four upcoming performances, featuring amazing Singaporean talents.

After a long two-year break, live events are finally back and we are so here for it!

Note that when I say ‘live’, I meant in person where we get to wholly engage in the atmosphere and not online livestreams. Yes, of course, we blasted tunes while ‘locked down’ in our rooms and belted out to favourite tracks in the showers…but come on, nothing beats live shows. We’ve seen international performances come back to life, wished we were physically at any one of those raving music festivals, and also watched, disconnected just a little, from our screens. Now it’s finally our turn to rejoice and bask in live music!

What we’re incredibly excited about at Dreamfellas is the slew of upcoming music events. As advocates and fans of local talent (which by the way, is insane, who ever said Singapore didn’t have great art), we’ve picked out four live shows you can check out.

Majulah’s back for its second season, and with a bang. Hosted by homegrown comedians Fakkah Fuzz, Jacky Ng and Qamarul Haziq, Majulah Live x It’s A Rap is an extensive showcase of Singaporean culture, music and talent. The one-night only live concert features top headlining musicians and independent artistes, the likes of Yung Raja, RRILEY, ShiGGa Shay, Fariz Jabba, Joy Alexis, AE$OP CA$H and more.

Live music and comedy? It really doesn’t get better than that. Relish in great sounds and laughs! The concert’s on 19 March 2022. Get your tickets here.

On 26 March, Singaporean record label Closed Door Collective presents a one-night, two-set live concert. Set at The Projector’s Blue Room (what a great location, I must say), OASIS marks the label’s debut showcase. For Closed Door Collective, the production is about creating an opportunity for themselves “in a time where opportunities are few for our excellent local talents to express their creativity and individuality.”

The lineup consists of musicians from the label’s roster: Chriskris, Fahmy, Mia Insyirah, and Tyas Iglesias. ABANGSAPAU will also be performing alongside Keyana, P_NEDA, and Try Sarah’s Socks. Enjoy a night of good vibes and music. Tickets are available on Peatix.

urban sonic music festival – retro edition

Conceived by IMC Live Global, this music festival is the second edition of its first successful run back in January. Spanning over two weekends, 18 – 19 March and 25 – 26 March, the show will have a retro spin this time. An absolute throwback to the golden eras of ‘70s-’80s music — one of my top favourite genres, to be frank (Sinatra).

The festival will showcase eight bands and artistes, including crowd favourites and staples in Singapore’s live music circuit: Shirlyn + The UnXpected, Jive Talkin’, John Molina with Kruger, Shagies, Jack & Rai, SuperSonic, Bushmen and Nation One.

Buy your tickets via Sistic here.

Swiss Weeks 2022

For the first time ever, Singaporean pop icon Tabitha Nauser has partnered with the Embassy of Switzerland to stage a free live performance. Nauser will be representing her Swiss heritage and taking the stage on 17 April at the Flower Field Hall in Gardens by the Bay, marking her first live show in two years.

Unfortunately and expectantly so, tickets are all redeemed. However, you can still register your interest under the waitlist here.

It’s no secret that music and fashion blends brilliantly and enhances each other. If you’re anything like me, you’re already piecing together the outfit you’ll be adorning to these shows! I won’t deny that, for me, dressing up is one of the exciting parts about attending a live music event.

Alright, time to get buzzy for late-night revels!
